Listen in on the discussion from front-line perspectives on the causes and effects of the supply chain disruptions from Europe, America and Australia as Patrick Daly, Evan Bulmer and Lisa Anderson discuss supply chain shortages.
Recent years have thrown up a series of events that have caused inbound supply disruptions for developed economies that are highly dependent on smooth operation of international supply chains.
Some of these disruptions have been bigger while others have been smaller, some have been regional and others global, but all have had significant impacts around the world.
Over last 10 years alone, among other events, we have had:
- The Fukushima earthquake and tsunami
- The Icelandic volcano and ash cloud
- US-China trade wars
- Brexit and ensuing import and export disruptions between the UK and its European trading partners
- The COVID pandemic causing global disruption impacting different regions at different times throughout 2020 and 2021
- Suez Canal blockage and resulting delays and supply shortages
The disruptions resulting from the more recent of these are still ongoing through 2021 and are having undesired adverse effects on supply chains all around the world affecting manufacturing, distribution and retail.
In this podcast we get front-line perspectives on the causes and effects of these supply disruptions from Europe, America and Australia as I am joined in discussion in this episode by Evan Bulmer, principal at Evan Bulmer & Associates in Adelaide, Australia and Lisa Anderson, president of the LMA Consulting Group in the Los Angeles California.
